This is used but in pristine like-new condition. This kick drive is compatible with the hobie drop in mount kick fin system.
This comes with spare fins, and some extra replacement hardware.
Two of the original clips(ones that hold the fins up) were replaced with more robust SS clips as preventative maintenance.
This was salt-off’ed and freshwater washed after each use.
This drive works great, very low profile and is quiet, with the kick fin design it works really well in shallow water and over structures.
With respect to fishing, this drive helps add to the stability of the kayak(especially when fins are pointed straight down) and is quiet with a low enough profile that it does not spook finicky fish even when you are moving.
I used this with a 10ft fishing kayak(more stable and less speed) and when it was loaded with gear and going with no water currents, the comfortable cruising speed was approximately 3mph, topped off at about ~5mph. Speed depends on rider and kayak, but generally larger kayak = more speed.
Selling because the kayak is not going to be used anymore.
