GENUINE NUVUK CANADA HANDMADE CARVING IN SOAPSTONE
THIS BEAUTIFUL FIGURINE DEPICTS AN INUIT FISHERMAN IN A KAYAK WITH A SEAL AND SEVERAL FISH.
This unusual piece of art is a wonderful rendering of life for the alaskan or Canadian fisherman in great condition!
There is a tiny area on the back of the boat which looks like it chipped and has been repaired along time ago. It is hard to find but I do have a picture of it in the fifth picture.
I see nothing else wrong with this whatsoever it is a beautiful beautiful piece.
Approximate measures are 11 1/2 inches long by just under 5 inches tall this is exquisitely carved in soapstone which is a beautiful material for Alaskan carvings! It has a special wonderful feel to it!
This is a beautiful piece depicting genuine INUIT artwork.
“INUIT” is the more accurate, more correct, more respectful term for the Native peoples of the Northern Alaska region, where this piece was made.

FEATURES AN ESKIMO FISHERMAN WITH AT LEAST 6 FISH THAT HE CAUGHT AND A SEAL ON THE FRONT OF HIS KAYAK.
He is wearing the traditional gear that in Alaskan or Canadian fisherman would wear.
He is holding the traditional two headed kayak paddle with his right hand and then he’s holding onto a large fish with his left hand, perhaps the kayak is bouncing during the stormy seas.
A wonderful piece of original art that look would give special character to any room!
