A eclectice collection on Greenland and the Arctice.
1.) Greenland Expedition: Where Ice is Born
by Lonnie Dupre, foreword by Will Steger ("(This book) is the closest you will ever get from the armchair to your own Greenland Expedition"
Northwood Press Hardcover in jacket, fully illustrated, clean tight copy, includes Dupre's 2000m halfway around Greenland kayak journey, on a route never before even remotely accomplished.
2.) David Goes to Greenland
by David Binney Putnam (nephew of "Uncle" William Beebe)
with foreword by Capt. bob Bartlett (of the Morrissey), with illustrations by Eskimo artist Kakutia
True story of 13 year old David on Greenland Expedition of the Morrissey, including hilarious story
of Robert Peary learning the Eskimo Kayak Roll.
Published in 1926, with photos, overall clean tight copy, but given how photo pages were bound in those days,
several have come loose from binding and are inlaid.
1.)   Unique collection of ephemera, letters and newspaper articles on Norwegian historian J. Kr. Tornoe's
research of the old Norwegian Viking discovery stories related to Iceland and Greenland. Meddelelser Nr. 56 Lysstreif over Noregsveldets Historie
, with summary in English, Oslo, 1944.
Unmarked copy but for light dampstain across top margin first fifty pages. Essentially cosmetic.
Inscribed by author and dated 24/6, 1949, Oslo. To direkbar Albird Eide Tarr (sp???),
Inlaid is full double sided handwritten letter to the same person the book is inscribed to. Jeg leser ikke norsk, so I can only guess the letter regards the author's attempts to join a Woods Hole Oceanographic Expedition to the Arctic, as is outlined in several other letters, or copies of correspondence between Tornoe and David C. Nutt, Commander of Woods Hole and the expedition. Author actually got permission to sail on the expedition, which includes Dove Bay, Eastern Greenland (see Wikipedia), and letter from Nutt outlines the expedition timetable and when they could pick up Tornoe on one of their Canadian stops. An earlier letter from author to Nutt had asked to sail on the expedition and offered to pay the $600. fee to do so. The last letter, dated several weeks after the acceptance from Nutt,  is from Tornoe to say, sadly,  he couldn't raise the funds after all, and thus would be unable to attend that year (1949). Finally, inlaid, is an old newspaper article on William B. Goodwin, regarding "the Truth about Leif Erickson". Its dated 29.April. 1943 in ink. Possibly an obituary?  In Norwegian.  Inlaid.
